What is persuasive writing?
Persuasive writing is a type of writing where the purpose is to persuade, argue, rebut, encourage action or inspire.

A persuasive response may take the form of an argumentative essay, a letter to the editor, a dialogue between holders of opposing viewpoints, an editorial, an opinion column, a debate speech or persuasive speech transcript, an advertisement etc.
Audience: will vary according to purpose and form.
